TRIP TO OBUSE NOZAWA
Paradise, not just a slope in Nozawa
We have had some beautiful sun filled days this week in Nozawa Onsen. The weather has been glorious, we still have awesome snow coverage across the mountain, and there have been less crowds, making it much easier to snag a table at your favourite restaurant. The slopes have been fast and fun, with the groomers leaving us fresh corduroy every morning.
We have clear skies and sunshine on the menu again for today. Temperatures will be spring like again with warmer temperatures. A max of 5 degrees on top of the mountain and a max of 14 degrees in the village. Winds are light and variable from the SW, not affecting the wind chill by much. Visibility will again be excellent today, perfect for grabbing some pics of the mountains. Head to Yamabiko for freshly groomed runs and great views all around.
Nozawa Onsen is the perfect base to set out and explore the region. With only a quick bus to Iiyama, there are plenty of destinations to add to your holiday list. If you’re not on the slopes for the day, you could head to Kanazawa, take a trip to the snow monkeys, or head to Obuse. One of our team members, Sera, you might have caught her at the Central office, spent a day exploring Obuse. Here she saw the Hokusai-kan Museum, beetle statues and enjoyed a special tofu lunch. Friday will see temperatures drop back at 1 degree along with light winds. The weekend looks like more sunny spring days to enjoy ahead of a cold change on Monday.
