Winter Comeback in Nozawa Onsen
Winter Comeback in Nozawa Onsen
Be careful what you wish for. Waking up to blizzard like conditions today in Nozawa. The resort reporting an impressive 35cm so more than the “Magic Foot” of fresh snow up top overnight. The base has jumped back up to the 2 meter mark. The Siberian snow gods have also brought with them strong northerly winds. It was unsure whether the gondolas would open this morning but can report they are both operational at the moment Nagasaka and Hikage Gondolas. Winds are set to ease through the day so hoping all will stay running. The snow is falling like pellets down low rather than flakes so will be interesting to see what the consistency is like up top. Yesterday was great so hoping for an awesome powder day ahead. Rug up as will be cold, stay safe and enjoy.
