Best Week Nozawa Onsen
Has been a good week in Nozawa
What a day yesterday on the slopes. Anyone that was here the last two days is looking pretty happy about now, as said some prefer the storm some the sun and we had both. Yesterday was pretty special though and is always hard to beat a bluebird day. With the fresh snow, sunshine, no winds and not too many people about it was one of those days. Enjoy a piece of it with this little video from the top of Karasawa slope yesterday afternoon. As many know there used to be a lift servicing this run but it was dismantled a few years back, so now the only way to access it is via Skyline and dropping into the access trails on skiers left either Kamoshika or Tanuki 42 and 43. So means not too may people in there at all as can see from the video. This valley is one of my favourite runs as the Pine trees line the sides and you get awesome views all the way down across the valley. The pitch is also perfect and it is nice and wide.

Todays Snow Report from Nozawa Onsen
Temperature up top: 0 degrees
New snow since close: 0cm
Base at top: 145 cm
Snow conditions: Still some fresh about and great on piste
Weather: Cloudy with chance of light snow up top and rain showers down low
Today the snow should still be in great condition especially up top. No fresh snow overnight and a bit warm down low so the higher slopes are going to be the go. Temperatures are forecast to drop back down tomorrow and decent snow forecast for the top. Looking ahead and not a lot of snow on the radar until this time next week where we could be in for another good snow storm, sunshine expected for the weekend. Have a great day and stay safe.
