Big Dump Overnight Nozawa

We got even more snow than expected overnight in Nozawa Onsen.

The official report is for 35cm of fresh up top but looking out the window it feels like we got almost that in the village.

Has been a while since I have been woken by the roar of the snow blowers but it was a welcome alarm this morning!

Temp at the top;-6 degrees

New snow since close; 35cm

Base at the top; 140 cm

Snow conditions; Fresh powder

Weather; Still snowing strongly!

Great to see this view out the window from Nozawa Central and the snow looks set to continue all day.

The resort has confirmed it will open some more runs today including Nagasaka slope under the Gondola

Gondola opens at 8;40am today

Nice cold temps too ahead of some sunshine tomorrow.
