Dumping Nozawa Onsen
What a difference a day makes in Nozawa!
Yesterday we were still amongst the rice paddies today we are in the Snow Ball.
A massive 50cm plus of fresh has fallen since this time yesterday up top and the base has jumped from 40cm to 90cm in 24 Hours.
Still going strong now, it feels like the Winter Switch has definitely been flicked.
Yesterday the snow had started to accumulate up top by after lunch and there was some layers of powder to enjoy.
Today should be up another level with all the snow we got up top overnight.
Temp at the top; -8 degrees
New snow since close; 35 cm ( 20cm before that)
Base at the top; 90cm
Weather; Snowing nicely! Expected to clear
Please take it easy on the roads and also on the slopes as could get a bit hectic out there with the New Years crowd rolling into town.
Have a felling there won’t be so many folk from Tokyo this year due to the late start of the season.
At this stage seems to be the same runs as yesterday and both the Hikage and Nagasaka Gondolas are running.
The forecast is for some sunshine and warmer temps over the next few days before more serious snow from Tuesday on with nice cold temps.
The snow should continue until next Tuesday so the winter vibe and good times are set to continue in Nozawa. Get up there and enjoy the Nozawa Powder.
