We have been asked many times, what is the perfect age to start skiing? There really isn’t the ‘perfect’ age. Kids are unpredictable and the snow is the perfect environment for them to showcase this. However, there are a few things that can be the difference between a good day and a bad one. 7mm of rainfall is predicted for this morning in the village, and it is expected to ease off into the afternoon. But, with rain in the village we have our fingers crossed for snow on the mountain. There are expected snow showers throughout the day up on the slopes. With this front on top of Nozawa temperatures are set to be a little colder just sitting at 1 degrees on top of the mountain this morning, in town we are expected to hit a max of 9 degrees. Winds are set to stay light and variable for the most of the day with the occasional stronger gust on top of the mountain.

FORECAST:
The forecast is showing promise that the clouds will start to roll out late this afternoon and we should return to our usual blue skies tomorrow. Saturday is sunny with a max of 7 degrees on the mountain accompanied by minimal to light winds for the day. Sunday the clouds will return but with anticipated light snow. A small cold front will pass over Nozawa Sunday night with strong winds to settle in on Monday. Seeing temperatures back in the negatives. The freezing level is dropping throughout the day on Monday, so the whole mountain will get a good top up of snow fall with around 15cm+ predicted for the day.
