Shaun launching off a drop in the trees
Yesterday saw some beautiful powder riding up top, with around 30cm of fresh. The trees were popular but once again the mountain was empty! No queues at any of the lifts and fresh tracks to be found all day long. The snow hasn’t stopped since Wednesday night, and just when we thought we’d see the best of this storm yesterday, we awoke to plenty more snow. We’ve got around 25cm of fresh down in the village with more up top as the snow keeps falling heavily. The forecast is predicting snowfalls to continue throughout the day… Let’s hope it keeps coming down this heavily!
Looking at the days ahead of us, it’s going to be warming up again in Nozawa. Tomorrow should see another fairly cold day with temps of -6°C up top though warmer down the bottom being a couple of degrees above zero. Winds will be mild for the whole week ahead, and the snow storm will ease up with not much snow predicted for the future. Be sure to get out there today as this could be the last powder day of the season! It’s going to be a good one.
