Long Weekend Nozawa Onsen – Saturday Sun in Nozawa
The skies were super clear last night when wandering to the Onsen and with the reflection of the full moon on the snow it was really bright.
Waking up to a beautiful sunny day on the slopes here. The village is sitting under a light sea of cloud which should clear soon but the top looks stunning this morning. Check it out on the web cams here Webcams Nozawa Japan

It is a long weekend here to celebrate the “Coming of Age” which is for young Adults turning 20 this year. The Nagasaka Gondola will be open 30 minutes earlier too at 8;10am. There should be a few people about town and we have the Festival on the Main Street tonight with drummers, costumes and a “ Scissors, Paper, Rock” tournament always fun to watch. Will be all happening there from around 6pm.
Then tomorrow Sunday Nasuki will be up at Hikage Ski Centre beating out some mochi for everyone to enjoy.
Yesterday was an awesome day on the slopes with some fresh snow and the sun coming out. Lots of smiles rolling down the mountain at the end of the day. Looking ahead and we should be in for a bit of snow tonight then hopefully 15cm on Monday. Temps are sitting consistently low and light winds should make for fun conditions on the slopes. We would love even more snow and at the stage the next big system could hit us next Saturday. Have a great long weekend in Nozawa, stay safe and remember the famous Fire Festival is on the 15th with preparations starting on the 13th.
