Absolutely dumping in Nozawa right now!
Boom the snow has hit and it is coming down hard. When I woke up it was only really light, but it soon escalated and is now one of those days in the “ Snow Globe” with the sky just full of flakes! Beautiful to see and the few guests about were dancing in the streets on the way to the Gondola this morning. It is forecast to continue all day and into tonight and those strong Siberian North West winds will prevail. There is a good chance that the gondola could go on wind hold as up to 70km/h winds are expected. Will have to wait and see, if it happens just stay low or use the lifts to crawl up the mountain.

March Dump Nozawa Onsen
Only 4 cm was recorded early but guessing in the last 30 minutes there has been about 3 times that fall so the figures should jump up quickly today. We are now sitting at a similar base line to the 2015/16 season and today should help a lot with that. Looking ahead it will ease into tomorrow morning and then some beautiful sunny days ahead with light winds.
