New Year Forecast Nozawa
Today the Sun sets on another year
Hard to believe another whole year has passed us by. They seem to go quicker the older I get. Waking up to a cloudy morning here in Nozawa and temps hovering a bit above freezing level. Yesterday was a beautiful sunny day on the slopes. Conditions up high were good but icy on the lower sections. It is busy up there now too with the New Years crowd rolling in. Unfortunately still no option to ski down so the Gondola downloads are adding to congestion. Just not enough snow down low. Same runs and lifts as yesterday.
Unfortunately due to the weather forecast the Fireworks and Night Skiing have been cancelled this evening. Ceremonies and ringing of the bell at the Shrine should still be going ahead. Always a special way to welcome the New Year. Town will also be a buzz so stay dry and enjoy the night.

Weather: Cloudy with snow expected for the top from this evening. Rain down low.

☃️ SNOW FORECAST:
The Northerly wind change this evening will bring some heavy snow with it for up top tonight and into tomorrow. Unfortunately not cold enough in town and we are forecast to get rain here, turning to snow in the morning as temperatures drop. It will begin to clear into tomorrow afternoon and should be a good day on the slopes tomorrow up high. Looking ahead to 2024 and not a bad rhythm forming with a snow/ sun/ snow pattern emerging. Would like to see it colder but the upper half of the mountain should receive some good top ups over the coming week or so.
