We have just come out of two amazing days of snowfall in Nozawa. The base has jumped up to 130cm now and we are only into day 3 of the season. We have had about 1 meter fall in the last few days!
Yesterday snowed all day long and was blizzard type conditions up on the mountain. Every run on the groomers was a powder run. With thigh deep pockets up for grabs all over the place. It was cold and the snow was nice and light. One of those days that the tracks were being filled in every time you took a run back up.
Pretty quiet up there and in the afternoon only saw 3 other people on a run down Yamabiko. All this snow and now a bluebird! It snowed into the night so will be nice and fresh under foot up top too.
Looking ahead looks like we are in for some massive snow again starting tomorrow night into Wednesday with a total of over 60cm of snow expected! Great start to the season in Nozawa.
