Nozawa Onsen Snow Report 25th January 2019
We’ve seen a bit of a reoccurring trend this season. Basically, whatever the forecast says, we’ll get more. Yesterday, we got double and ended up with over 60 centimetres. There’s said to be another 70 centimetres or so tonight so if that trend continues then who knows what we’ll end up with. Let’s just go with “quite a bit” at the moment.
The current forecast suggests we’ll start to get a bit more later today before the onslaught of tomorrow. Beyond that, Sunday and Monday look good for more than a few centimetres too. Needless to say, it’s going to be a big weekend!
But what about today first?
10:00 am
Temp at the top; -6C
New snow since close; 10 cm
New snow since 8 am today; 1 cm
Base at the top; 320 cm
Weather; light snow
As always, we consider safety above all else. This is the case on the mountain, in the village and in reaching us. With lots of snow falling tomorrow, please allow plenty of time for travel as there may be delays. We will update on Facebook if we hear of anything.
See you on the mountain!
