Nozawa Onsen Ski Resort to Close on Friday
The resort just put out an announcement this evening and I heard it for sure in the Onsen an hour ago. The resort will close in just 2 days time on Friday the 17th of April 2020.
In the announcement they said with Special Measures being issued around the country in regards to the Corona Virus and in interest of protecting both customers and employees they have decided to close the resort. They apologise and will make every effort to improve the Resort even more for next season and thank you for your continued support.
So it is a few weeks earlier than the usual close of May 6th and a shame with still a 200cm base up top but not unexpected. At least we went out on a high with the amazing conditions yesterday. A big “ Arigatou” to everyone that visited the resort this season it has been a different kind of season and a different kind of world for everyone. We really hope to see you back here next season and will keep you updated on things throughout the Summer including the new Gondola going in.
