Cool Sun filled weekend in Nozawa
Have to admit I do love this time of year. Can live comfortably in town without shovelling tonnes of snow, ride your bike, hang your clothes outside to dry and still have some fun on the slopes. The last two days have been really enjoyable spring skiing. The colder temps overnight have kept the slush fast and easy to turn in.
I was getting worried last week as it was sticky and the fog was thick. Almost put a storage wax on the skis but the last two days have encouraged me to keep getting up the mountain. The resort even used the snow machines last night to make some fresh snow. Temperature at the top; Yamabiko 1 degree early 6 degrees now
New snow since yesterday; 0cm
Base at the top; 80 cm
Snow conditions; Fast slush with some man made fresh
Weather; Sunny and cool conditions up high

🌄RUNS OPEN: All of Yamabiko with the Snow Park open on Yamabiko C, Paradise and Uenotaira
FORECAST: Still cool runnings tomorrow but a southerly change in the wind and a warm bump on Tuesday bringing some precipitation with it. After that Sunshine and light winds for a few days and temps will hover just under 10 degrees up top. They may make some more snow tonight so if keen tomorrow should be fun but only Yamabiko intermediate runs open.
