Monday could be a good start to the week in Nozawa
Terrific day on the slopes yesterday especially up top. The snow was great quality, with the dusting we received overnight and nice cold temperatures.
The views were also spectacular with high cloud base you could see clearly to Mt Myoko and Mt Hiuchi across the valley. This video taken from Uenotaira slope yesterday afternoon, where the half pipe has also now opened up.

Temperature up top: -3 degrees
New snow since close: 2cm
Base at top: 120cm
Snow conditions: Fun conditions set to improve thru the day
Weather: Light Snow expected through the day getting heavier tonight
The outlook for tonight into tomorrow still looking good with a long awaited Siberian system rolling in and we should see some much needed snow with over 30cm expected to fall. The North West winds forecast to kick in and be quite strong tomorrow pushing in the snow and pushing down the temps to as cold as -10 degrees for the top. Let’s hope it is enough to top up the lower slopes too and should make for a fun week ahead in Nozawa. Wednesday should then clear for a bluebird day and temps also expected to warm up so will be good for the little ones.
