Today will be an incredible day on the slopes with all this sunshine in Nozawa.
After a few days of constant snow, the sun is shining and more lifts are open. We can now ski top to bottom.
The snow finally gave us a break from falling yesterday afternoon. It is hard to complain about it snowing, but the town was submerged so it was time to bring out the shovel (take a look at Luke on the roof of Kaiya lodge in the photos below). With all this great snowfall it means that more slopes are finally open.
Paradise, Forrest Trail and several other slopes have opened today. We can now ski top to bottom from Yamabiko to Hikage Station. With more slopes open, the mountain will feel even quieter with all the skiers and snowboarders spread out, especially seeing as it is Friday so there won’t be a weekend crowd.

We will definitely be making the most of the sunshine in Nozawa today and tomorrow morning before the next snow is forecasted to begin again tomorrow afternoon, heavier into the evening and constantly on Sunday.
After a great day of skiing, swing by Akari Bakery tonight for dinner at their grand opening and tomorrow evening head to Neo Bar for their opening party. I hear a DJ is coming all the way from Tokyo!
Speaking of food, it’s time to hit the mountain as Paradise slope is finally open which means Buna for lunch!
