It is a beautiful morning in Nozawa Onsen. The sun is shining, more slopes have opened and a snowy evening is expected.
Yesterday was an amazing day on the mountain. Bluebird skies and did not have to line up for a lift once. Was perfect carving conditions on piste with a lot of fun powder to play with on the sides. Paradise slope was literally a paradise.
Even more slopes have opened today. Yesterday we could ski top to bottom on only green runs, now we can also do so on reds and blacks from mid station to Hikage station. Nagasaka and Hikage are now open which are great beginner slopes to warm up on before getting on the gondola. It is now the weekend so we are expecting a few more crowds to join in on all the fun, yet with all the new space to move around it should still feel like you have the mountain to yourself!
Making the most of the sunshine before the snowfall this evening and continuing into tomorrow. Temperatures tomorrow are due to drop lower so may be a good idea to have an onsen before hitting the slopes!
Last night was the Akari Bakery opening night. The Pizzas there are amazing, plus they do takeaway and delivery… too convenient. Neo Bar opening party is this evening. We hear that a DJ has come all the way from Tokyo. Check out their website for more details.
Photos from yesterday afternoon on Paradise and Forrest Trail. Check out the updated map of which slopes are open today.
