Winter Feel Nozawa Onsen
Definitely felt like full blown winter in Nozawa yesterday with snow falling all day and temps in the village down to -5 degrees, even cooler up top.
There was also full winter type powder conditions on the mountain and the seasoned campaigners were having a ball.
Today is more of the same with the resort reporting another 20cm of fresh up top overnight. More runs have also opened up with Skyline starting yesterday
So now a few good options to ski top to bottom in Nozawa with most of the resort now open. Check the map to see the runs
Temp at the top;-5 degrees
New snow since close; 20cm
Base at the top; 140 cm
Snow conditions; Fresh snow on piste
Weather; Cloudy
Skyline is a thigh burning 6km plus run which you can take all the way from top to bottom now with the new connector or if want an easier ride down the Forest trail is a beginner run that is more than 10km long and lots of fun. Winter Feel Nozawa Onsen
On the forecast the sun should come out later today and is starting to clear a bit out the window so should be a magic afternoon and still sunshine in the morning tomorrow. Looks like a southerly wind change then coming thru which will see temps rise a little before dropping again on Thursday and hopefully more light snow. Further ahead anther decent fall of snow expected for Nozawa next weekend also a bit of a festival in town on Saturday night. Hope to see you there and have a great day on the slopes today. Much quieter now with the Tokyo crowd leaving yesterday. A huge thank you to everyone for support of our fund raising for the Australian Fire relief and will announce a winner of the Auction soon.
