Best Month Ski Nozawa
Say Sayonara to the Sun for a while
We have not had a lot of sunshine this season with the relentless snow falls so it was awesome to have a few warm sunny days just gone. Even had a bit of what felt like Spring T shirt weather in the Village yesterday. Was great for all the locals to hook into the snow clearing in preparation for the next big snow storm which is forecast to kick in from this afternoon. Temps are set to plummet and heavy snow expected for the next few days.
Yesterday was glorious sunshine and many of the less experienced skiers have enjoyed the ease of the groomers and the magnificent views. Will be quieter on the slopes the coming weekdays but remember next Monday is a public Holiday for the Emperor’s Birthday. 🏔️ Base at the top of Nagasaka: 345cm
❄️ Snow conditions: Groomers the go
🌤️ Weather: Sunny now but be ready for a snowy change later

❄️ SNOW FORECAST:
There is snow forecast everyday for 8 days now! A strong northerly wind shift this afternoon is going to drop temps into double digits and they will flat line there for a whole week. Looking at the figures it most likely won’t be as intense as some of the Siberian storms that have blown in so far this season but some decent numbers nonetheless. Tonight and tomorrow night should be the heaviest with over 60cm expected. Some decent top ups all the way until next Tuesday and we may even see glimmers of sunshine a few mornings in between.
Will this be the last big dump of the season? Hard to tell but the long term is showing things warming up towards the end of February. March was our best month last season though so will have to wait and see. Have a great day of sun and snow in Nozawa.
