Big Snow Season Nozawa
A Season Start for the History Books in Nozawa
Nozawa Onsen Snow Report 16th December 2020
Wow what a start to the season in Nozawa. Another 60cm of fresh snow overnight and the base now smashing through the 1 meter mark. It is starting to look like one of those memorable seasons like 2014 when we got 3 meters of snow in 4 days, or 2012 when we got buried and ended up with a base close to 5 meters. 1995 and 1996 were also very big seasons when we hosted Interski in Nozawa.
Temp at the top; -10 degrees
New snow since close; 60cm Official and yes still going strong!
Base at the top; 110 cm
Snow conditions; Fresh Deep Powder
Weather; Snowing like crazy!
Just in, we have had so much snow that a tree has fallen on the new Gondola line so they need to check it all before opening. Resort have advised will be up in an hour or two. Lots of hungry powder hounds are waiting..
Big Snow Season Nozawa
Runs open today:
All Yamabiko Courses Open
Uenotaira course Number 8
Serviced by the new Nagasaka Gondola and the Uenotaira 4 chair.
It is going to continue snowing all day and we should get at least another 60cm. Lighter snow tomorrow and maybe even a bit of Sunshine on Friday ahead of another snow system Friday night and can expect another meter from that storm. Epic start to the season and safe to say the Snow Making guns are now buried up top just a week in. Sorry if you are missing it as we know so many are, but book now for next season and let’s hope it is another big one. Just email the girls at team@nozawaholidays.com to reserve your place in the lift line for 2022.
If not heading up grab a shovel and dig in lots of snow to move!
