Who has ridden the new Nagasaka Gondola in Nozawa?
Having only opened two season ago for many of our overseas guests the answer is probably not yet. So hope you are excited to check it out this coming season. It is quicker, roomier, more comfortable and has better views than the old girl. I was amazed the first time I rode it, normally I have time to feed the kids, remove my aching boots and send a few emails on the way up but with travel time cut in half the kids had to go hungry đÂ
A few fun facts for youÂ
- The middle station has been removed and the track is straight to the top
- The total length is be about 3.1km instead of 3.5km previously and vertical is about a 1000m climbÂ
- Passengers sit instead of standing in gondola cabins with seating for 10 peopleÂ
- It halves the travel time to the top (from 16mins to 8mins)
The Gondola is open for one more week over the Green season and a fantastic way to enjoy the canopy below as the trees begin to change colour. It could open again as soon as the 26th of November if we get some early snow. So just over 1 month away. Then will run until May 7th so a long season ahead.
