Cold Snap Covers Nozawa
After some Spring like days we have been jolted back into winter this morning. Light snow falling on the door step and the resort reporting 14cm of fresh at Uenotaira but 6cm for the Yamabiko. It is a welcome reprieve after the warmth of yesterday. A chilly – 4 degrees up top and the snow still falling but set to clear later in the day.
Temps will remain cold all day with those light Siberian currents continuing ahead of a southerly change and more Sunshine from tomorrow. Anyway grab a coffee from the Ski Locker or your favourite and get up there should be a fantastic day ahead in Nozawa. Get up high as the upper slopes got a lot more snow than down low.

❄️ SNOW FORECAST:
Looking ahead and like what I see a lot more than did yesterday. After today’s little snowy shift we will be back to basking in the sun for a few days with temps rising again and southerly winds fanning some more spring weather. Then from Wednesday the 21st of February those Northerly winds start to push back in and with them bringing what’s shaping up for a super cold change and return to deep winter conditions for as far as I can see at this stage. Not huge dumps but consistent light to moderate snow falls forecast for a week and most importantly temps are remaining cold which will keep the snow in good condition. This pattern is still a few days away so will have to wait and see but would not be putting the powder planks away yet. Will hide my shovels though as that always helps 🙂
