Nozawa Onsen Snow Report 3rd of January 2020
Temp at the top; -4 degrees
New snow since close; 1 cm
Base at the top; 85cm
Snow conditions; Fresh good on piste
Weather; Snowy throughout the day
Yesterday had light snow falling and that will continue today ending in heavy snow throughout the night. Good powder at the top of the mountain yesterday with slightly warmer conditions below, still made for a good ski day especially with the big flakes of snow falling. Nozawa Onsen should have continuous snow falling today with it getting heavier in the afternoon, temperatures should stay around -5 with cloudy skies.
Tomorrow should have some great first tracks as its expected to snow 28 cm overnight. The next couple of days have some big snow falls with over 52cm of snow predicted for Friday and Saturday and some colder temps.
Ski Resort Update
In other news, for those of you who like to cross country ski the Uenotaira crosscountry course which is about 2km is open. Passes for the course run ¥1500 for adults and ¥1,100 for Kids. In Alpine news you can ski back down to the base of the mountain with a couple of runs including Ushikubi 22, Challenge 17, Rinkan 37 and Schneider 16.
