Nozawa Onsen Spring Snow Report, 20th of April 2019
Today is what spring is about. Being Saturday, Paradise is open and a great place for a beer in the sun between runs. It’s getting towards t-shirt weather down in the village but up on top of the mountain, there’s plenty of Nozawa Onsen spring skiing to be had.
Temperatures look like they’ll slowly climb over the next week. By the time Golden Week rolls around, we should be well into the 20s in the village. All things going according to plan, we’ll be sliding atop Mount Kenashi up until the 5th of May. That last week being the Golden Week holiday period creates a unique vibe around town. Not only that, but we get to enjoy some great spring skiing thanks to the very healthy base which remains up top.
What does the official report tell us this morning?
At 7:02 am;
Temp at the top; -1C (and climbing!)
New snow since close; 0cm
Base at the top; 255cm
Weather; sunny
Beyond close of the ski season, we find the growing Nozawa Onsen Green Season. While the Hikage area provides the summer version of the kid’s park and summer skiing, the Nagasaka Gondola services the mountain bike tracks. Our yoga retreats are becoming more popular and the hiking, biking and paddling all sound like great ways to escape the heat and hustle of the busier tourist areas.
That’s why we came up with the long-stay Green Season deal. Guests can spend a month in Nozawa Onsen for cheaper than the price of rent at home! Check out the details below.
