Nozawa Onsen Spring Snow Report, 26th of March 2019
Following Sunday’s day of fresh Nozawa Onsen spring snow, yesterday was a radiant sunny affair. That theme looks set to continue today. But wait! There’s snow coming! Let’s let the actual forecast illustrate that below. Let’s also remember that each and every time we’ve had snow this season, there’s been more than predicted. When we awoke to 15 cm on Sunday (and 5cm more during Monday morning) the forecast had predicted 1 cm. While we can’t guarantee that the trend will continue, we can suggest that it might.
It looks as though good things are coming our way. In fact, there’s snow forecast for every remaining day of Magic March. That should make for a pretty great latter half of spring skiing. Many will tell you that the warmer temps, discounted lift tickets and cheaper accommodation prices make spring their favourite time to be in town. Consider that alongside a healthy base and more snowfall to come, things are looking good for the remainder of the season. We’ll be sliding around up top right up until the end of this year’s extra special Golden Week.
What’s the official word from the top of the mountain this morning?
At 7:28 am;
Temp at the top; -2C
New snow since close; 0cm
Base at the top; 270cm
