Record Snow Fall Nozawa
Holy Moly maybe the biggest dump of the season and base hits 450cm in Nozawa!
Never under estimate what Mother Nature can throw at us in Nozawa. A huge 70cm dump of fresh snow falling on our heads overnight and still snowing hard. I had a feeling we may flirt with the 4 meter mark today but 4.5 meters. What an epic season. It has been a few years since we have seen snow hit this depth in Nozawa.
The big 2014/15 Season we were at 425cm on this day! That season went on to see a peak of 470cm for what was a massive season. With more snow expected today will be interesting if we hit that later today. A few tired locals on the end of a shovel probably hope not. Our overseas guests that cannot get here may be secretly hoping the same 🙂 All this snow and huge base depth does mean a long season though, so hope to see you sometime.

It is going to be sketchy off piste today with so much snow in one hit there will be some slabs that could easily slide so if venturing out please do not go alone and be fully prepared. There will really be no need today anyway as there will be so much powder on the runs and even in the car park! The lifts have a big day ahead too check out those chairs this morning.
Powder for the people in Nozawa today. Stay safe and have an amazing Sunday in Nozawa
