Uenotaira Run open to slide in Nozawa
Always good when the resort opens up this long gentle slope as gives some good terrain for the beginners. Yamabiko is great but getting off the top lifts can be a bit daunting for newbies to the sport of skiing or boarding. Uenotaira means the top flat area and is a 2km long run so plenty of time to practice your turns. Who here loves this run?
Snowing lightly up top at the moment and just a few centimetres recorded today on top of a 40cm base.
Good news is temps are set to drop tonight down to -8 degrees up top and we could see up to 20cm of fresh snow fall across the higher slopes. Tomorrow is set to clear for what could be a beautiful bluebird day. If in the area why not come up, even stay a few nights as more snow expected from Tuesday night.

It is still very early days for the season but great to be able to slide so early on. I can see a pattern forming for about a week from now that could be quite large and cold but still a long way off so will have to wait and see.
