Season Opening 2021 Japan
Opening day for Nozawa Onsen Ski Resort!
The big announcement has been made and the Resort is planning to roll first lifts on the 27th of November this year. It is always hard to know if they will actually have enough cover to open that day but at least it draws a line in the snow! It is also 2 weeks ahead of last years scheduled opening date.
With a few early falls who knows it may be earlier this year but after 30 years of watching it I think to be safe aim for around the second week of December then anything earlier is a bonus.
The JMA Weather Bureau in Japan just recently released their long term forecast. Very hard to predict weather this far out but they can often be on the money. They are saying a 40% chance of more snow than normal for our region. This combined with what looks like will be another La Nina event could mean another big season like the last one. But will just have to wait and see, for most coming for a holiday it really only matters that the snow is good when they hit the slopes so here is hoping you score big time.
