Beautiful Morning Sun for Nozawa
Huge day yesterday in the Village for the start of the Fire Festival preparations. The log dragging thru the village as always an amazing spectacle to watch.
There was some carnage as a few of the villagers succumb to the gifts of large bottles of Sake, but all in all a very successful day and the logs made it down to the ceremonial grounds successfully.
Looking like a glorious day today up top with yet another little top up of fresh and the sun has come out to play. Tradition continues Nozawa Onsen
Surprisingly good day yesterday on the slopes with fun conditions in nice cold temps and snowing off and on throughout the day. It was busy early but the Tokyo skiers left around lunch time and we had some great runs down skyline to end the day. The forecast it looking good for tomorrow and we could get blessed with a snowy night for the Fire Festival which always adds to the ambience of the evening. Be sure to go down to the ceremony grounds today and see them building the shrine, it is quite a spectacle to witness.
