Nozawa is a world renowned Ski Resort in Nagano Japan and is busy with Skiers and Boarders from all over the world in the Winter months. In the Green Season the mountains remain and can be just as much fun to explore on two wheels. Mountain biking is starting to take off in Nozawa and the locals are busy building some amazing Mountain Bike Trails.
The Ski Resort also just put in a new Gondola that now takes you to the top in just 8 minutes which is twice as fast as the old Gondola. Of course you can ride up the Mountain anytime and for me half the enjoyment and satisfaction of Biking is the challenge of the ride up. If you get a bit puffed with the uphill climb the good news is you can hire Electric Bikes in Nozawa to make the ride up that much easier.

Cost is from 4000 Yen a day. Rental can be done together with a Tour of the Onsens using a Stamp book issued by the local Tourist office too.
The Onsens are a great way to soothe the aching muscles after a big day on the bike or skiing in Nozawa
