Environmental Friendly Accommodation Japan
Has been a while since we ran our Summer vs Winter shots. Here is a good contrast for you from the roof top of the ever popular Villa Nozawa. From Winter with the white snow to now with the Green of the rice paddies and grassy slopes of Kandahar. Quite a different scene.
And in the Green Season
Environmental Friendly Accommodation Japan
There are only a few lodges that are powered by the sun in Nozawa. It can be a big job keeping the Solar panels clear of snow over the Winter especially as we can get up to 1 meter of fresh snow overnight. But it’s all worth it to do our bit for the environment. Villa Nozawa produces more electricity than it uses year round which is great and helps preserve a few snow flakes. Here is a list of Eco Friendly lodges with Solar Power in Nozawa worth a look when book your next holiday to Japan https://www.nozawaholidays.com/news/eco-friendly-lodges-nozawa-onsen/
Think Green 🙂
There are lots of things we can in our daily lives to slow Global Warning but also on our ski holiday. Here is a list of a few suggestions
- Reduce, Reuse, Recycle. Japan can be infamous for its amount of packaging refuse it when can and recycle the rest
- Switch off! Not just your mind while on holidays but lights and heaters when heading out on the slopes for the day
- Walk, Ski or Ride where ever you need to go. Nozawa is a very small town just 1.5 km from side to side no need for a car
- Rug up. Instead of firing up your heater and sitting around in your shorts just put on a jumper and feel good
- Lots of the above and more can be down at home before you even leave for your trip
Do the right thing and the Snow Gods will thank you 🙂
