Onsen Day Nozawa Onsen
♨️ Great day for an Onsen in Nozawa Onsen
Waking up in a cloud this morning in Nozawa with rain falling in the village. Good chance it is raining up top too, the silver lining is temps are set to drop throughout today and it should turn to snow after lunch. The gondola is running so head up if keen.
There are 13 free onsens in Nozawa and various private ones they are all housed in beautiful traditional Japanese buildings.
It’s a great way to experience the local culture and makes you feel terrific, with the natural minerals it soothes away those aches and pains, and will help you bounce back the next day!

☃️SNOW FORECAST
Onsen Day Nozawa Onsen
As said this week is a bit of a mixed bag. Will be pretty cold tomorrow but then warms up into the weekend when we could get some more rain. The good news is the snowfall from Sunday on just keeps building! The Japan Meteorological Agency or JMA has announced a heavy snow warning for most of the western coast and mountains of Japan. At this stage it is set to continue for a whole week and temperatures are gong to be cold! So be patient, tomorrow and Thursday could be good days with sunshine and a bit of fresh. Maybe stay in the Onsen for Friday and Saturday and get ready for the big snow dumps ahead.
This photo is of Matsuba Onsen in Nozawa a few days ago and after a big dump a few years ago. Let’s see hoe it transforms in the coming weeks.
