Even Powder hounds like some sunshine too. 

Sorry has been a while between reports enjoying some Spring downtime. Lots happening these last few days in Nozawa with the ever popular ski and board demo day. A great chance to check out all of next seasons new models and soak up some sun and a few beers on the slopes. Today the resort was unfortunately closed due to high winds. Should all be back on again tomorrow though with winds dropping overnight. 

The spring slush has been fun and fast and can still ski top to bottom on beginner and more advanced runs down the forest trail or challenger. The sun has been most welcome and temps havebeen remaining pretty cool yet so some fun conditions on the still huge 2.5 meter plus base.

❄️ New snow since yesterday: 0cm

🏔️ Base at the top of Nagasaka: 260 cm – not bad for mid April  

❄️ Snow conditions: Spring slush 

🌤️ Weather: High cloud and some sunshine 

⛷️ Runs: Closed today but most of the left side of the mountain still open  

🚡 Lifts: Nagasaka Gondola, Both Yamabiko Chairs, Uenotaira and Paradise

❄️ SNOW FORECAST: 

Believe it or not there is 17cm of snow forecast for top of the mountain on Tuesday! Temps are dropping and a northerly wind pattern to dominate with most snow expected on Tuesday night. Sun back on Wednesday and with no one about it could be a beautiful day up on top. Lots of sunshine and temps warming up after that. The Sakura or Cherry blossoms are appearing in many areas below Nozawa and should peak in the coming days so get out there and enjoy the Hanami or flower watching.
