Nozawa Onsen Snow Report 19th of January 2021
Waking up to full blown winter this morning in Nozawa and a stark contrast to yesterdays sunshine. The Siberian winds have picked up from the North West and with them brought some heavy snow fall. This video from our friends at Villa Nozawa this morning. Still snowing hard and should ease but continue to snow all day.

New snow since close; 30 cm

Snow conditions; Lots of fresh powder

Winter is certainly back with a vengeance today and it is wild and wooly up there. Very strong winds and poor visibility. If you are a true powder hound you will no doubt have already done a few laps for others tomorrow is looking amazing with sunshine and light winds. With not many people about there is bound to be plenty of powder too. So may be a good day to take it easy, take an Onsen or check out the new Indoor Climbing wall at Dojo. Japan is renowned around the world now for having amazing powder snow. I have been skiing Japan for over 30 years now and we always had the powder but for the first 20 years not many people went to explore it.
