Nozawa Onsen Snow Report 28th February 2019 Tomorrow is officially spring but you could be forgiven for thinking it had come early. We’ve had some sunny, spring-like conditions of late. Today, however, is a little different. A few extra centimetres fell upon on the top of Mount Kenashi this morning. While we would never complain about fresh snow, we’d probably also like a bit more. At village level, it looks like a pretty good day to embark upon an onsen crawl. Or perhaps even grab a beer and head for the foot onsen near O-yu. Nozawa Onsen Snow Report 27th February 2019 Here comes spring! To be fair, we’ve been experiencing some spring-like conditions for the past week and a bit. There hasn’t been a lot of snow lately but there have been some glorious sunny days. We’re hopeful of seeing another dump or two before the season is done but the current forecast suggests that, if we do, it will be during Magic March. The year’s shortest month will become March in a few short days. While there is a bit on the radar for tomorrow, it’s doubtful it will eventuate to much more than a dusting. Nozawa Onsen Snow Report 26th February 2019 We’re still awaiting some late-February snow to fall. But once again, we’re not complaining about the visibility! Nozawa Onsen has been throwing up some amazing, spring-like days of late. The temperature was forecast to dive today but there is little evidence of that thus far. Instead, we’ve got a brilliant day of blue skies and some cloud. The forward forecast for the week ahead shows a bit of light snow here and there but nothing significant to speak of. Nozawa Onsen Snow Report 25th February 2019 There might not be a lot of fresh snow to talk about lately but there have been blessings of a different kind. A few days of the past week have been simply stunning days to be on the mountain or in the village. There’s a bit of cloud about but today should mostly concern itself with sunshine. Is there any new snow coming our way in the near future? Maybe. The forecast for the coming week doesn’t show too much. Nozawa Onsen Snow Report 24th February 2019 What an amazing day we find ourselves enjoying again today! We might not have had the snow we would of late but it’s hard to complain on a day like today. The sun is shining brightly over Mount Kenashi and Nozawa Onsen. This should continue throughout the day. There is perhaps a tiny dusting on the cards for tomorrow night. Beyond that, the most promising return of winter looks to be Thursday. There’s a handful of snow predicted to fall late Thursday and we all know what happens when they forecast a bit – we get lots. Nozawa Onsen Snow Report 23rd February 2019 There’s just a dusting about this morning but it’s something. Yesterday was a glorious day on the mountain and in the village. Today might deliver us a mixed bag but a return to the sunshine is on the cards for tomorrow. As far as fresh snow goes, we’ll just have to wait. There’s not a lot on the next week’s radar but as we have learnt many times in the past, that can all change very quickly. Nozawa’s weather has a habit of turning it on when we least expect it. Nozawa Onsen Snow Report 22nd February 2019 What an amazing sight it is to look out the window and see the marvellous day we’ve been gifted. Even better – the view from the top of Mount Kenashi! It’s all about sliding around under blue sky here in Nozawa Onsen today. We even got a few centimetres overnight to go with it. While we haven’t seen the snow of earlier in the month of late, days like today rival the powder days. The forecast is for nothing but sunshine throughout the rest of the day. Nozawa Onsen Snow Report 20th February 2019 Today is a bit of a mixed bag when it comes to the weather. There’s plenty of weather around but it’s not quite cool enough to turn into snow at this point. The good news is that there appears to be some snow on the way. We may even see a bit overnight. Further ahead, there’ll be a bit of sunshine before Friday evening rolls around. Current forecasts suggest that it will snow steadily overnight and all day on Saturday. Nozawa Onsen Snow Report 18th February 2019 There’s plenty of sunshine on the menu, ladies and gents. The cloud lingers but there’s plenty of blue sky to be seen. If you’re lucky, there’s bound to be a few pockets of powder left over from yesterday. It doesn’t look like we’ll see a lot of snow in the immediate future but you never know. So often, when they predict a little we get heaps and when they predict none we get some. We’ll just have to wait and see, enjoying the sunshine as we go. Nozawa Onsen Snow Report 16th February 2019 It was just a dusting that we received overnight but still something. We’ve been having a pretty good time of things lately so any more is a bonus. There’s a bit around this morning which the forecast says will amount to a handful more falling steadily throughout the day and night. Tomorrow we might see a little bit but it’s mostly sunshine on the forecast for the beginning of next week. As mentioned, we have seen quite a bit fall recently so blue skies and sunshine is not a bad result. It should make for a great time to be out and about in the village and sliding down Mount Kenashi.
